A little about me...

I was born in Grand Junction, CO. and grew up outside of St. Louis, MO. My senior year, I moved back home to Grand Junction and have been here since. I have a wonderful husband, and beautiful baby girl who are both my driving forces. If you can't tell, I love dragons, which is why I named my business "Dragonfire Financials." When I'm not doing schoolwork or working on my business, I enjoy painting, writing, cooking and spending time with my family and friends. Once you get to know me, you'll see that I am an open book. I look forward to working with you on a professional, yet personal, level.

Values

Our values often define who we are, both professionally and personally. I believe that the pillar to each of my core values is honesty. Without honesty, there is no trust, no respect, no responsibility and no integrity. Even when things are difficult, being honest should always be the go-to in personal and professional lives. I always like to say, "The only thing in this world that we truly have are our words. Once we don't have that, then we have nothing."

Vision

My vision for Dragonfire Financials is to become a well-known and trusted accounting firm that offers a variety of services. Someday, I hope to be able to expand and have a team that holds up my standards. Our "niche" will be our clients. We will be knowledgeable and specialize in all business types to be able to suit all business needs.

Dragonfire Financials will be known for being reliable, trustworthy, efficient, and will become a home for opportunities.

When I do get to expand, I want to be known as a business that cares about the employees, clients and community. We all succeed together.

It's going to be a fun journey.

My background

Funny story, I have changed career paths three times now. Third time's the charm, right? At first, I was a CNA in nursing homes and had planned on attending nursing school. I enjoyed taking care of my patients, getting to know them and being there for the end of their life. Nursing was emotionally hard, being a CNA was physically demanding and I decided I needed a change for my own well-being.   I didn't know what career path I had wanted to take, until I discovered the world of engineering. That is when I started going to college and was bound and determined to invent Capital Cold's Cold Gun in inspiration from the wonderful Cisco Ramon, aka Vibe. Silly, I know but, I dream big. While in engineering school, I hit some major life curves that ultimately influenced my whole life changing. It started when my dad developed cancer, and any focus I had for school was completely diminished, especially after he passed away. I really struggled learning the materials and lost my drive for engineering. It was a hard time in life that shook the world I was in. This is where I started exploring what other career paths would be right for me. Here we are, on my current journey in the wonderful world of accounting. I switched my college course to accounting and am expected to graduate with my bachelors in 2026. It hit me one day, when I was sitting down working on my personal finances. How could I make them better, what ways could I improve, where were all the numbers at. I LOVE math, always have -thanks to my sister forcing me to do her Algebra homework in 4th grade. Oh, and trust me, I'm not complaining about it. I enjoyed doing it. When I started taking my accounting courses, I knew I was finally on the right path. Homework was a fun challenge again. I loved figuring out all the behind-the-scenes of how a business operates and putting the puzzle together to make it balance. For the first time in my life, I feel like I am on the correct path and not just going with what seems like the good fit. With accounting, I feel at home. So why am I also doing bookkeeping, tax preparation payroll and notary services? Well, numbers...I love working with numbers and enjoy the challenge that each will present. I also am dedicated to working from home to raise my daughter and this field of work gives me that much needed flexibility. With all this motivation behind me, I am confident I will be successful, without working a day. When you love what you do, you don't work a day in your life. I know this is the path I was meant to be on, I just had to find it first.
